Mobile Elevating Work Platforms require operators to understand far more than basic controls. This course focuses on how stability, terrain, load distribution, slope, wind, and dynamic forces affect both scissor and boom lift operation. Participants learn how different MEWP types behave, where their limits change, and how poor sequencing or positioning can quickly create unsafe conditions.
Training combines classroom instruction with hands-on operation using real equipment. Operators are trained to follow manufacturer requirements, recognize hazards, respond to emergencies, and apply safe operating practices across both scissor and aerial boom lifts. Instruction aligns with CSA B354 – Mobile Elevating Work Platforms and emphasizes practical decision-making in real work environments. Successful participants receive certification valid for three years.
The 3-year expiry is not a regulatory requirement (no matter what anyone else tells you). This is an industry best practice.
We budget for a full day of training. This isn’t a quick “turn on the machine and go home” course — it’s a focused, hands-on session that takes the time to build real competence.
