The Fall Protection Instructor Training Program prepares participants to teach Haland Learning’s Fall Protection User Course using standardized lesson plans, materials, and evaluation tools. This 24-hour program builds both technical knowledge and instructional capability, ensuring consistent, standards-aligned delivery of fall protection training across Canada.
Instructor candidates review the full end-user curriculum and participate in structured workshops covering facilitation, equipment demonstrations, classroom management, and learner evaluation. Each participant delivers assigned sections of the course, completes technical reviews, and receives coaching on both instructional skill and content accuracy.
The curriculum follows CSA Z1009:22 – Management of Work at Heights and supporting CSA Z259 series standards, forming a strong national baseline for fall protection education. Graduates who meet program standards earn Haland Instructor Certification, authorizing them to deliver the Fall Protection User Training through their own organization or training provider.
The course instructors get certified to deliver is recognized as part of the National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) program and may be accepted in most Canadian jurisdictions.
However, it does not meet the provincial “Working at Heights” training requirements in Ontario or the mandatory fall protection training requirements in Newfoundland & Labrador. Outside those provinces, it is generally accepted wherever fall protection training requirements reference CSA standards.
