Fork Lift training

Fork Lift (class 1/4/5)

The Forklift Operator Training Program is designed to prepare workers to operate powered industrial lift trucks safely in any work environment. Participants learn how to identify hazards, perform pre-operation inspections, and handle loads in accordance with the requirements of CSA B335-15 – Safety Standard for Lift Trucks, as well as applicable OHS regulations and manufacturer instructions.

The course covers forklift types and classifications, data plates, capacity calculations, and stability concepts including the stability triangle and combined centre of gravity. Through guided practice, participants learn safe start-up and shutdown procedures, load picking and placement, travelling on ramps and grades, and working around pedestrians. Each participant operates at least one counterbalance forklift and is evaluated for practical competence using a standardized performance checklist.

Successful participants receive a certificate valid for three years (industry best practice, not a regulatory requirement).

Private $1,500

Includes 6 students

We budget for a full day of training. This isn’t a quick “drive around the yard and go home” course — it’s a focused, hands-on session that takes the time to build real operator competence.

Working with Cameron was an absolute pleasure. He provided training not only for my Safety Committee but also for workers located on the island. He is knowledgeable, has a great personality and is able to make safety an enjoyable conversation. I am looking forward to a very long working relationship with Haland Learning.

Highly recommend Cam. He was organized, professional and the perfect amount of casual for our tech office. He facilitated our Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee training in our downtown Victoria office. The training offered a great mix between interactive exercises and self-directed learning. It was not an 8-hour day of PowerPoint slides - thankfully. Very happy with the training. Thanks Cam!
