The Mobile Elevating Work Platform Instructor Training Program equips candidates with the technical knowledge and instructional skills required to teach scissor lift and boom lift operation effectively and safely.

Over 24 hours of classroom and practical development, instructor candidates learn how to facilitate MEWP operator training in accordance with CAN/CSA-B354.8:17 – Operator Training, supported by inspection and operational requirements from CAN/CSA-B354.7:17 – Safety Principles, Inspection, Maintenance and Operation.

The program includes in-depth technical reviews of MEWP classifications, components, and stability factors, along with structured activities that build confidence in teaching pre-use inspections, function testing, and safe operation. Each instructor candidate delivers assigned sections of the operator course, leads demonstrations, and participates in coaching and evaluation sessions focused on accuracy and engagement.

Graduates who meet program standards earn Haland Instructor Certification, authorizing them to deliver Haland Learning’s MEWP Operator course through their own organization or training provider.

I recently took the Fall Protection Instructors course through Haland Learning. Not only was this course in-depth on the documentation, liability and safety components required to be a successful trainer in this field, but it also has a focus on effective teaching methods and the more human side that is needed to be a great teacher! Most companies that offer similar courses really lack in this area. Also, the training & certification materials that are provided for both the instructor and end users are the best I've seen. They really set-up new instructors for success.

Just finished the Fall protection Instructor course, and wow was it a fantastic experience. It's given me the confidence and knowledge to deliver and instruct the material in the best way possible with all the resources and support that Cam had offered to us. It was also a fun class!
