What I learned so far: finding out what learners actually received

Teaching and facilitation

What I learned so far... Oftentimes as instructors, we "think" we know how students are receiving information, but we actually have no idea. One of my standard activities after a break is "One thing I learned so far". Criteria:

  1. Something you learned or re-learned from today's session.
  2. Each answer per group must be specific
  3. Each answer must be unique

We're 3 hours into a custom-built 2-day Supervision and Leadership course. These were some of the answers... "I learned about the state of Flow. I was never taught how the complexity of a task and our ability to DO that task were related. The idea that matching those two would help us achieve flow was pretty fascinating." https://lnkd.in/ghCW5xj)

"I learned about the differences between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and how to use these in the workplace." https://lnkd.in/gHvszsa "I learned about authentic praise. It's not like it was brand new, but I'd never thought of it this way. It was very useful." https://lnkd.in/gSSebb6
