Every instructor who comes back for another course reminds us of something important: teaching is a skill you build through repetition, not a certificate you earn once. We (Haland Learning) just finished three days of Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Operator Instructor Training in Burnaby with our training partner LiftEx.
One instructor from EJTC was back — he completed his Fall Protection Instructor Training with us earlier this year. An instructor from Baydo Group returned too — she’s already certified through Haland as a Fall Protection and Confined Space Instructor.
The CSO at Ridgeline Exteriors Inc. added another credential — after earning his Fall Protection Instructor Certification with us, he’s now certified as a MEWP Instructor as well. What we love about seeing instructors return is that it gives us a chance to help them refine how they teach — not just what they teach. It’s in the subtle things:
- How they read the room.
- How they adapt on the fly.
- How they turn safety training into something that actually connects.
Instructor training is about much more than passing on information. It’s about creating people who can teach with impact.
Thanks again to everyone who joined us this week — and to Liftex Equipment Rentals Inc. for being an excellent partner in raising the bar for training quality in our industry. And of course, to Nicola Van Der Laars for facilitating this instructor training.
