Instructor vs. Trainer I was initially trained as a Military First Aid Instructor back in 1998, and much of my time has been spent "instructing". At some point over the past 10 years it seems to have shifted to Trainer (or Facilitator).
- Instructor. Run a prescribed set of lessons with activities, lectures, tests to reach desired outcomes.
- Trainer. Achieve a desired set of outcomes using a variety of approaches. These approaches may change on the fly based on group experience, dynamics and more.
I VASTLY prefer the Trainer approach.
- How would you describe the terms Instructor vs. Trainer?
- How do you prefer to run a session?
