How Haland instructor programs work

Your materials, the platform your students' records live in, and the renewal cycle. This is the same for every Haland instructor program.

The complete system

One system, from manual to certificate

Everything you teach, test and certify with comes as one matching set.

  • Student manual
Student manualWhat each student reads and keeps.
  • Lesson plans

  • Slide deck
Slide deckThe slides you teach from.
  • Final exam booklet

Screens and the certificate are samples with fictional data.

One course, one set of materials

If you teach a Haland Learning course, you teach it with the whole set: {kitList}. Haland Learning materials cannot be paired with certificates you issue yourself.

You can run your own training any time. It is just not Haland Learning certified.

Haland Learning's final exam is the only exam used. The Certification Management Platform will not issue a certificate for a failing score, and every certificate it issues can be verified online.

Teach your own people or your own clients

A certified instructor can teach in-house to their own employees, or to their own clients. Haland Learning charges no extra fee for either: no annual fee and no start-up fee on top of the prices listed.

Training providers are responsible for making sure their own insurance properly covers the way they teach.

Digital Certification Management Platform

The Digital Certification Management Platform, called the CMP, is a web application for safety-training classes and the certificates that come out of them. It records each class, issues a numbered certificate to every student who qualifies, emails it to them as a PDF, and lets anyone check it later.

  • Training recordsRecord each class and its results, and have them checked before certificates are issued.
  • CertificatesA numbered digital certificate, emailed as a PDF to each student who qualifies.
  • VerificationAnyone can check a certificate online with its number and the holder's last name.
  • Expiry remindersStudents are emailed once, about 60 days before a certificate expires.
  • MarketplaceOrder course activations for pickup or shipping, paying by card or on 30-day terms.
  • Provider dashboardStudents trained, certificates issued, top course, instructor activity and alerts at a glance.
  • Instructors and resourcesInstructor lists, ordering permissions, and downloadable exam answer keys and evaluations.
  • Courses and versionsCourses are managed in versions, and each certificate records the version it was issued under.

How the platform works

Certification Requirements

How do I keep my instructor certification?

01

Teach {minClasses} Classes Per Year

02

Renew Every {years} Years

03

Instructor Code of Conduct

Instructors teach at least {minClasses} classes per year for {years} years. An instructor who teaches fewer than {minClasses} classes in a year, or reaches the end of the {years} years, must renew to keep the certification current.

Certificates your students receive are issued by Haland Learning and carry your training provider's name, so your company name stays on every certificate.

We do not support withholding certificates, and we have stopped working with providers that do.
